2011 Re-Cap!

Gregg - Gregg finished off a return to the high school last spring, teaching Biology and Forensic Crime Lab. He had a busy summer; keeping the kids busy, the house up, carrying out quality deer management and adding a screened in porch to our already existing deck. He spent many evenings there this past summer and fall! He returned to the high school this fall; teaching Team Sports and Forensic Crime Lab in the first trimester. He also coached JV boys soccer. This year was new in that he coached under AHS's new Varsity coach, a retired teacher and successful soccer coach from Troy Athens. We are very thankful for this man's full-time move to the Alpena area! We are hopeful for the future of Alpena soccer!

Mary - Continues to work full-time at Tendercare Health & Rehab Center as a Social Service Director; a busy job! At times I get a chance to sew, and recently had some fun with upcycling old items! Fall and spring is busy with soccer practice, soccer games and more soccer!

Kyle - Finished up 6th grade at the junior high last spring. He played travel soccer last spring and this fall. This fall he proved to have grown a bit in his abilities, but injuries plagued his season as well. Over the summer he was able to attend Camp Barakel for a week. He also volunteered at Vacation Bible School one week at our church, Huron Shores Fellowship. He's in the 7th grade this year, and just turned 14 years old on the 24th of December. He's growing into quite the young man and is taller than me (and wearing a size 10 shoe!).

Jack - Completed preschool at his daycare center last spring, having learned quite a few things, but not being very fond of the center itself. This summer he had lots of fun at home with the boys and was sorry to see it end! He enjoyed his fourth birthday and wanted "soccer guys" on his birthday cake. This fall he started at a smaller daycare, initially a hard choice for us, but in hindsight, a GREAT choice. His provider, "Mrs. B", is WONDERFUL, and he much prefers the house setting with less kids "to bother him". He has memorized a few verses and recently recited a few pages from The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.

This past summer we went to Norris Lake, Tennessee for one week with the rest of the Stelzer Family. We rented a house on a lake and spent LOTS of time in the water or on the water! Even jumped off a bridge (well, we decided to keep Jack in the boat with the rest of the chicken's). We are a busy, busy family who spends every moment we can with each other, at home! We love to be home!
